Malkangir, Ap 24: Inspection of vehicles at checkpoints ahead of led to the seizure of Rs 30 lakh from a entering Odisha from neighbouring Chhattisgarh on Friday evening, police sources said.
Sources said, the police officers conducting vehicle checks near Chalanguda on the Malkangiri-Sukma Road last evening encountered a car traveling from the adjacent Sukma district in Chhattisgarh. Upon intercepted the vehicle at the checkpoint and recoved a sum of Rs 30 lakh during routine inspection.
The Inspector-in-Charge of Malkangiri police station, said that neither the driver nor the passenger provided a satisfactory explanation for the recovered cash. Consequently, the police apprehended both individuals for further questioning.
