Bhubaneswar, April 18: As per the Met department data, Bhubaneswar sizzled at 43.6 degree Celsius by 2.30 PM followed by Balasore and Jharsuguda with 42.6 degree Celsius.
The temperatures recorded at other places are as follows:
Sambalpur: 41.7°C
Hirakud: 41.4°C
Chandbali: 41.2°C
Keonjhar: 40.9°C
Rourkela: 40.2°C
Earlier, the IMD had predicted temperature increases of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in various areas of the state, with some regions anticipated to experience temperatures exceeding 45 degrees Celsius.
The scorching heat made its presence felt early today, with Bhubaneswar crossing the 40-degree Celsius mark by 11:30 am. Balasore and the city both registered a sweltering 40.6 degrees Celsius, while Chandbali and Jharsuguda soared to 40 degrees Celsius. Sambalpur experienced 39.7 degrees Celsius, and Keonjhar stood at 39 degrees Celsius.
