Bhubaneswar, April 27: The state capital Bhubaneswar turned out to be the hottest place as the temperature recorded 44.6 degrees Celsius, followed closely by Jharsuguda at 43.6 degrees Celsius by 2.30 PM today.
For the first time, the temperature in Bhubaneswar recorded above 44 degrees Celsius. Rourkela recorded a scorching 42.5 degrees Celsius, while Chandabali followed closely at 42.4 degrees Celsius. Sambalpur experienced 42.1 degrees Celsius, with Hirakud close behind at 41.8 degrees Celsius. Balasore and Keonjhar recorded temperatures of 41.7 and 41.5 degrees Celsius, respectively
Worth mentioning, the Regional weather department issued a red alert for twin cities Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. People of both the cities have been alerted to take extreme care and avoid stepping out the house under the scorching sun particularly during the peak hours of 11am to 3pm. According to the report, severe heat wave conditions may prevail in Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Khurdha and Cuttack.
