Bhubaneswar, May 6: Of the 66,342 students who registered for the National Eligibility Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG 2024), 97.8 percent candidates appeared the exam on Sunday.
The exam was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) from 2 pm to 5.20 pm.
As many as 16,162 students appeared for the exam conducted at 25 centres in Bhubaneswar. Candidates were allowed to enter the exam centres from 11 am and the exam halls were closed before 15 minutes of begining of the test.
Water and biscuits were provided to students as they had to spend over six hours in the exam centre.
Students and parents had to brave the scorching heat throughout the day as several places in the state sizzled at over 40 degree Celsius on Sunday while Bhubaneswar recorded 39.9 degree Celsius.
The NEET UG 2024 exam was conducted in 557 cities across the country and 14 cities abroad in multiple exam centres. The results will be announced on June 14. However, several social media posts are claiming that the question paper is leaked.
