Bhubaneswar, April 20: The Boudh assembly constituency is gearing up for an interesting tri-cornered contest in the upcoming election.
Pradeep Kumar Amat, Minister and veteran politician, is the ruling Biju Janata Dal’s candidate. He has occupied the Boudh seat for five consecutive terms since 2000. Amat is determined to maintain his stronghold and has been actively campaigning, mobilizing party workers for his sixth term.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated Saroj Pradhan, a youth leader and Vice-Chairman of Harabhanga Block. Saroj comes from a political family, and his elder brother, Sushant Pradhan, contested the last three elections as a candidate from different parties (BJP, Congress, and independent) but was unsuccessful. Saroj is currently engaging with the local community and rallying party workers.
The grand old party, Congress, has fielded Naba Kumar Mishra as its nominee. Advocate Naba Kumar also serves as the party district president of Boudh. After the 2019 election, he took charge of the party in Boudh district, revitalizing its activities. He has been tirelessly visiting villages and mobilizing party workers for the upcoming election.
As the incumbent MLA Pradeep Kumar Amat is facing an anti-incumbency wave this time, the fight in Boudh would certainly be intriguing.
