Cuttack, May 8: A budding woman entrepreneur of Cuttack has set up a cow dung paint plant which will be launched on May 10, on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.

Babita Tripathy of Mahanadi Vihar area of Cuttack city has set up a natural paint factory at Solor in Chhatia area of Jajpur district after completing training from Kumarappa National Handmade Paper Institute under Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC).

"Cow dung is the main ingredient of this product, the paint is cost-effective and also odourless. Many unemployed youths will get employment after inaugaration of the commercial plant on May 10 and cattlemen from rural areas will be benefitted by selling cow dung," Said Babita.

We will produce distemper, primer and emulsion paints. The paint can be applied on the interior as well as exterior walls, she added.

The paint has successfully passed various test parameters. It dries in less than four hours having a smooth and uniform finish, said Babita.

The KVIC had launched Khadi Prakritik Paint on January 12, 2021, which is eco-friendly and non-toxic with anti anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.

The KVIC has given its approval for production of the paint in Odisha on October 12, 2022.
