Bhubaneswar, April 30: Authorities at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday detained two persons with unreported cash amounting to Rs 75 Lakh. The identities of these passengers remain undisclosed as they undergo questioning by authorities.
According to the report, the incident came to fore during the routine luggage screening while a substantial sum of Rs 50 lakh was discovered in the possession of the Delhi-bound passenger and Rs 25 Lakh was found with a Chennai bound traveller.
After the seizure of the accounted cash, the Income tax department has taken control of the seized funds and launched an investigation to determine their origins.
