Koraput, April 25: At least six wagons of a goods train derailed near Padua railway station in Koraput district today.
According to the report, the locomotive, laden with iron ore, was en route from Bacheli in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh when the incident took place. Despite this mishap, all passenger trains scheduled to operate on the route are running on time. Since the derailment occurred near a railway station with double lines, train movements are being managed through the alternate track.
A senior official confirmed that passenger train operations remain unaffected. The cause of the goods train derailment is yet to be determined, according to railway authorities.
