Bhubaneswar, May 1: Amid the blazing sun for days together, the Twin-City Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on Tuesday afternoon felt solaced after a good spell of rain hit the ground with the influence of Nor’wester.
Apart from the Cities, the rural suburbs in Khordha and Cuttack district reportedly experienced good showers of rain along with lightning and hailstorm.
According to the newscast issued by IMD Bhubaneswar Regional Centre, South-coastal Odisha, North coastal Odisha and neighbouring districts including Rayagada, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Kendrapara, Cuttack and Nayagarh and south interior districts are likely to experience sporadic rainfall during next 48 hours.
Thus the day temperature may come down due to low and moderate degree rain fall. However, heatwave conditions are likely to continue till heavier shower is received in most parts of the state, said the IMD report.
