Keonjhar, Oct 23: In a tragic incident, a woman and her two minor children, drowned in a pond while bathing.
The incident took place at the Panupshi village under Ghatgaon police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Prafulla Mahakud’s wife Kamini Mahakud, her son Om Prakash (7) and Sunita (5).
According to reports, Kamini was taking her bath while her two children were on the bank. While Kamini was cleaning clothes, she saw her son and daughter drown in the deep water while bathing. She rushed to rescue the two children but in vain rather she died in the water along with her two children.
Responding to the woman’s alarm, villagers reached the spot whereas the trio was found dead. However, they were rushed to Ghatgaon Community Health Center (CHC), where the doctor declared them ‘brought dead’.
