Mumbai, Dec 29: Kaamya Karthikeyan, a 17-year student of Navy School in Mumbai has emerged as the youngest mountaineer of the world to touch the sky over the 7 continents scaling highest peaks of the landscapes.
She has clinched world record in mountaineering , Africa (Mt Kilimanjaro), Europe (Mt Elbrus), Australia (Mt Kosciuszko), South America (Mt Aconcagua), North America (Mt Denali), Asia (Mt Everest) and culminating the current climb in the Antarctica.
With her new overhead task, the young Everester reached the summit of Mt Vincent Antarctica along with her father, Commander S. Karthikeyan, on December 24 at 17:20 hrs Chilean Standard Time to complete the Seven Summits Challenge.
Briefing her strenuous adventures, Kaamya said she was 7 when she took her first trek in Uttarakhand hill. She scaled Mount Everest at sixteen marching on farther, for her series of achievements.
Kaamya has been recently awarded the coveted Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Shakti Puraskar, by the President of India for her escalating feats.
