New Delhi, January 15: The third edition of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, a cultural exchange program celebrating the historic ties between Tamil Nadu and Kashi (Varanasi), will take place from February 15 to 24, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan declared on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference, Union Minister Pradhan highlighted the program’s significance in rediscovering the centuries-old connection between two of India’s ancient learning centers.
"The Kashi Tamil Sangamam aims to celebrate, reaffirm, and strengthen the age-old bonds between Tamil Nadu and Kashi. This 10-day initiative will commence on February 15," he added.
The first edition of the Sangamam was organized in 2022 as a month-long event to revive the cultural and spiritual links between Varanasi and Tamil Nadu. The second edition followed in 2023, from December 17 to 30.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will be the key institutions responsible for implementing this program.
