Pathanamthitta, Kerala, January 11: Two youths from Kerala's Kasaragod district completed an arduous 4,000-kilometre journey on foot to reach the sacred Lord Ayyappa shrine at Sabarimala.

It is an extraordinary act of devotion and a call for world peace,

The incredible 223-day pilgrimage was highlighted in a statement by the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) on Saturday.

Sanathkumar Nayak and Sampath kumar Shetty, both from Ramdas Nagar in Kasaragod, began their spiritual journey on May 26, 2024. Traveling by train, they first reached Badrinath in northern India. There, they prepared their irumudi kattu—the sacred bundle traditionally carried by Sabarimala devotees—and set off on foot towards Sabarimala on June 3.
