Puri, Jan 17: The highly anticipated 'Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa' (SPP) or the Jagannath Temple heritage corridor project is set to open its doors to the public on January 17.
Devotees from Odisha and various parts of the country have already started converging on the coastal pilgrim town in anticipation of the public unveiling of this significant project.

The pilgrim town has been beautifully adorned with flowers, decorative lights, and graffiti, creating a breathtaking atmosphere that resonates with the spiritual significance of the occasion.
The 'Maha Yagna,' which commenced on Makar Sankranti Day, is now ready for the conclusion in the afternoon today.
Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb is scheduled to perform the 'Purna Ahuti' (final pouring of ghee on the havan fire) between 1:30 and 2:30 pm, following which Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will officially dedicate the project to the devotees.
The 75-meter corridor is designed to offer expansive and unobstructed pathways around the Meghanada Pacheri (outer wall) of the Jagannath temple, ensuring excellent visual connectivity with the 12th-century shrine.
Beyond aesthetics, the project aims to improve pilgrim amenities, enhance the safety of the temple, and contribute to the transformation of Puri into a world heritage city.
The comprehensive project includes features such as parking spaces, Shree Setu (a bridge), pilgrimage centers, a new road for pilgrim movement, toilets, cloakrooms, and other facilities in and around the Jagannath temple in Puri.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has extended invitations to representatives from 90 religious shrines and institutions across the country to attend the function on January 17, marking a momentous step in the realization of this heritage corridor project.
