New Delhi, Feb 07: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) issued a notice on Friday to Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), requesting his presence for investigations into allegations that bribes were offered to the party's MLAs. The notice, which was deemed serious in nature, prompted the ACB to act swiftly in order to uncover the truth.
Kejriwal was asked to provide details regarding the 16 AAP MLAs allegedly offered bribes, as well as the content of their social media posts related to the matter. The ACB also sought information on the individuals involved in making the bribery offers and requested any additional evidence that could support the claims Kejriwal and other party members have shared on social media about the bribes.
On Thursday, Kejriwal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to poach AAP candidates by offering each Rs 15 crore. The BJP has strongly denied these allegations.
Kejriwal stated, "Some agencies are claiming that the 'Gali Galoch party' (referring to BJP) is projected to win more than 55 seats. In the past two hours, 16 of our candidates have been approached with offers to join their party. They are being promised ministerial positions and Rs 15 crore each."
He further questioned, "If their party is indeed securing over 55 seats, why would they need to contact our candidates? Clearly, these fake surveys are being conducted to create an atmosphere aimed at luring away our candidates. But let me tell you, not a single one of our members will be swayed by such tactics."
