Mumbai, Jan 16: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was seriously injured in a knife attack by an intruder at his Mumbai residence in the wee hour today. He was hospitalized at Lilavati Hospital and is reported to be out of danger.
Sources said, the intruder entered into Khan’s Bandra flat. After entering, he confronted Khan’s maid, leading to a heated argument. When Khan intervened to protect his staff member, the accused turned on him, stabbing him multiple times in the torso and arms. After hearing the scream, the neighbours called the police.
The reason behind such act has yet to be ascertained.
Being informed, officers reached the spot and apprehended the suspect shortly after he fled the scene. The police started investigation into the matter, which has raised concerns about security in celebrity residences.
A police spokesperson stated, “We are actively pursuing leads to identify any accomplices and ensure safety in the area.” Saif Ali Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where doctors confirmed that he is stable and recovering well from his injuries.
His wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and their children Taimur and Jeh are safe.
