Jammu, July 27: In the past 28 days, more than 440,000 pilgrims have participated in the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, as reported by officials from the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) under the leadership of Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha. The pilgrimage, which commenced on June 29, has seen a significant number of devotees receiving blessings inside the holy cave shrine.
On Saturday, another group of 1,771 pilgrims departed from Jammu towards the Kashmir valley. This group was split into two escorted convoys departing from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas at 3:25 a.m. The first convoy, comprising 772 Yatris, headed for the Baltal base camp in north Kashmir with a convoy of 30 vehicles. Simultaneously, the second convoy, carrying 999 Yatris in 33 vehicles, set off for the Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camp in south Kashmir.
On the preceding Friday alone, more than 8,000 pilgrims had the opportunity to have 'Darshan' at the holy shrine. The annual pilgrimage, managed meticulously by SASB officials, continues to draw devotees seeking spiritual fulfillment amidst the scenic landscapes of the region.
