Auto Driver Rewarded for Driving Saif to Hospital on the Fateful Night

Bhajan Singh an unassuming hardworking auto-rickshaw driver who plies his trade in the bustling streets of Mumbai. He found himself at the center of a dramatic incident involving Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan on 16th January 2025 . Little did he know that his ordinary day would take an extraordinary turn when he encountered a "profusely bleeding person" outside Saif Ali Khan's residence? His quick actions played a crucial role in ensuring actor Saif Ali khan received timely medical attention after a brutal attack in his residence.

 Sequence of Events

Around 3:30 am, Singh was hailed by a woman outside the Satguru Darshan building in Bandra West, after some time Saif Ali Khan, accompanied by his son Ibrahim and house help emerged from the building and got into Singh's auto-rickshaw. Saif Ali khan, clad in a white kurta-pajama, was "soaked in blood".

Singh remained calm and focused on getting Khan to the hospital quickly. He took a shortcut through Hill Road and Chapel Road, reaching Lilavati Hospital in the shortest possible time. During ride to the Hospital, the actor, though in pain, remained composed and kept enquiring about as to how long it would take for Singh to reach the hospital.

Upon arrival at the hospital, Khan was taken inside on the stretcher trolley. Singh, did not accept any payment, cleaned up the blood and continued on his daily routine..

Police Interrogation

Following the incident, Singh was summoned to the Bandra Police Station for questioning. He provided a detailed statement to police, after recounting the events of that night. Singh confirmed that he did not recognize Khan as his sole focus was to take the injured person to the hospital as soon as possible.

Recognition and Award

For Singh's act of kindness and bravery a social worker named Faizan Ansari rewarded him with a cash prize of Rs 11,000 in recognition of his selfless service. Singh, humbled by the gesture, expressed that he was simply happy to have helped someone in need.

Bhajan Singh's quick thinking and willingness to help a stranger, regardless of their status, saved Saif Ali Khan.
