Bhubaneswar, January 25: In order to provide at least safe homes to the needyones the AwaasPlus2 Survey rolled out across Odisha on Friday by the Odisha Government.
The mobile App-based survey AwaasPlus2 self-survey will enable all the deserving and left out families to have their dream homes under the PM Awaas Yojna.
PM Awaas aspirants can use the AwaasPlus2 mobile App in order to conduct the self-survey relating their personal database including recent status of homes they live in, particulars of KYC, income and details of movable & immovable assets if any, as per the programs.
The housing survey under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY) was kick started in Odisha on Friday by the PR Minister Rabi Narayan Naik in Puri.
State officials inaugurated the housing portal for it and surveys are being conducted through the AwaasPlus2 mobile application from the very day. Prospective beneficiaries have the option to apply either offline or online, to register as a beneficiary.
On the inaugural day, as many as five individuals from Arjunsinghpur village under Pipili block in Puri were included in the scheme.
As per reports, the survey will take place over approximately one and a half to two months. Applicants can either submit their forms offline at panchayat offices or register online through the App. To facilitate this process, awareness programmes were organised across various panchayats and as many as 13,942 GP & block officials were technically trained for extending assistance to the people.
This year, for the first time, families can self-register for the survey. Households living separately from the mother-family are also eligible to take part in the surevey.
The Central government has updated the eligibility criteria, allowing families possessing two-wheelers, refrigerators, and landline phones to be included in the survey list. Additionally, individuals earning up to Rs 15,000 per month can also apply for a house under the PMAY.
Similarly, sons living separately from their parents and estranged women from their husbands are eligible to apply under the revised rules.
To bolster the mobile based survey the government has also issued a toll-free helpline No. i.e 0674-681-7777, for interactive assistance.
Worth mentioning, as many as 18.37 L RCC roofed housed were sanctioned in 2020-21 under the PMAY whereas as many as 9.92L homes were sanctioned earlier in 2018-19, with providing safe houses free of cost that comprise a inclusive master-bedroom, kitchen and a lavatory.
Following the social survey, the left out beneficiaries will be righteously rehabilitated, said PR Minister Naik.
