Ayodhya, April 26: Amidst reports of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi planning to visit the holy city of Ayodhya to offer prayers at the Ram temple, Saints in Ayodhya have voiced strong reactions.
Mahant Raju Das of Hanuman Garhi temple emphasized that Rahul Gandhi should first visit the birthplace of Lord Shri Krishna in Mathura. "Rahul Gandhi should go to Mathura instead, visit Shri Krishna's birthplace, and pledge for the construction of a temple dedicated to Shri Krishna," he stated.
Highlighting past grievances, Mahant Das expressed discontent over Rahul Gandhi's absence at the consecration ceremony and criticized derogatory remarks made by Congress leaders towards Sanatan Dharma. He added, "Congress leaders have insulted Ram Lalla and called Sanatan Dharma names like typhoid, malaria, and dengue."
Echoing similar sentiments, Mahant Kamal Nayan Das, successor of Ram Mandir Trust's President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, questioned Rahul Gandhi's connection to India, citing his foreign birth and ancestral history. "Rahul Gandhi was born in a foreign country, and his ancestors have cheated and looted the country," he remarked.
Furthermore, Mahant Sanjay Das, successor of Mahant Gyan Das, National President of Sankat Mochan Seva, stressed the centrality of Lord Ram Lalla in everyone's faith and welcomed all to seek blessings at the temple. "Lord Ram Lalla is the centre of faith, he is the source of inspiration. Whoever bows down at his feet will be blessed by the God," he affirmed, expressing a sentiment echoed by many in Ayodhya.
