Cuttack, Nov 22: During the 7th day of historic Bali yatra festival, the highlight was a musical performance by Padma Shri awardee, Bollywood playback singer Suresh Wadkar. His soulful melodies struck a chord with the audience, drawing them in with a selection of popular songs. He began his performance with "Zindagi Gale Lag Ja," followed “Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela," “Ram Teri Ganga Maili Ho Gayi," and "Tum Se Milke," among other Hindi classics.
Suresh also serenaded the crowd with several touching versions of Odia songs, including "Maa Tume Mamataara Seemahina Sagar," "Soija Mama," and "Sindura Mathare Tora." His heartfelt performance, accompanied by the melodious voice of Sohini Mishra, had the audience dancing in delight.
The evening also featured a traditional dance performance by a group of artists from Slovakia, representing the ICCAR group, showcasing their vibrant cultural heritage. The Shastram Dance Academy presented a traditional Rajasthani dance, while Jackson Band Studio performed a theatrical play.
On the administrative front, the Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, Suresh Pujari, was granced and extended his support to the event. Later in the evening, performances by various local cultural groups continued, including songs by the Bighnan Band, Odissi dance by the Jatasinghpur Dance Academy, Sambalpuri dance by the Abhinay Dance Academy, and a play by the Binod Bihari Kala Parishad. Additionally, the Puri Prashanti Dance and Music Parishad performed the graceful Mahari dance, delighting the audience with its classical elegance.
