Jharsuguda, May 9: At a time when mystery has shrouded over the Jharsuguda triple murder, the police are suspecting a high profile betting behind the scene.
The triplet, a man, his wife and 12-year girl have been supposedly killed in connection with a betting deal, suspects the investigating team, said sources.
According to the Brajrajnagar police, three bodies were recovered from a car parked near a playground at Lakhanpur.
Primary inquests and investigation of the scientific team revealed that the man might have shot his wife and daughter from a pistol. Subsequently, he shot himself dead from the same pistol. However, police could not get any significant lead regarding the reason behind the killing.
During further investigation police sourced a significant clue on the deceased man who was reportedly indebted being indulged in illegal betting.
However, what made him eliminate his wife and his little champ daughter, is yet under investigation. Thus, the Brajrajnagar Police is working out on the circumstantial substances and other associated angles in detail, to crack the mystery behind the tragic end of the family.
Police sent the bodies for postmortem and also referred the pistol for forensic testing.
