Bhubaneswar, Oct 5: As the capital prepares for another spectacular and lavish Durga Puja celebration, the Old Station Bazaar Durga Puja Samiti is excited to present a stunning pandal inspired by a 900-year-old Vishnu Temple of Angkor Wat of Cambodia.
Standing 40 feet tall and 154 feet wide, the pandal promises to be a visual marvel, with the goddess and other deities adorned in exquisite silver ornaments. The committee is investing over Rs 60 lakh to ensure a vibrant and unique experience for devotees.
“Thousands visit our pandal each year for darshan. To ensure a smooth experience, we will have around 200 volunteers and puja committee members. Of them, 50 women volunteers will also be present. Additionally, 50 CCTV cameras will be installed to enhance security,” said Amaresh Jena, a member of the puja committee.
Devotees will be treated to traditional offerings, including ‘Charu Anna’ on Saptami and Astami, and ‘Dahi Pakhala’ on Dashami, as part of this year’s festivities.
