Bhubaneswar, Oct 11: Patiagarh Mahavir Durga Puja Committee has recreated Rajasthan's iconic Amber Palace, standing 72 feet tall and 80 feet wide, for their Durga Puja celebrations. The majestic structure, accompanied by a 14-foot clay idol of Goddess Durga and elaborate 16-foot star-studded gates, is crafted by skilled artisans from Cuttack.
A special highlight this year is a beautifully designed 6-kg silver crown, created by artisans from Mansinghpatna, Cuttack. The goddess, along with other deities, are also adorned with exquisite silver jewelry, adding to the grandeur.
The puja marks its 27th year, with a budget of Rs 40 lakhs. Around 2,000 devotees will be served prasad during the celebrations. Special rituals such as Kumari Puja, Dahi Pakhala Bhog, Aparajita Puja, and Purnahuti are scheduled on the auspicious days of Navami and Dashami. Additionally, cultural evenings, including Bhajan Sandhya, will enhance the festive atmosphere, and the entire village will be lit with colorful LED lights and gates.
To ensure safety, 100 volunteers will manage the crowds, supported by 11 CCTV cameras and six fire extinguishers. Traditional processions through the village will add a nostalgic charm to the event, making this year’s Durga Puja a memorable and vibrant affair.
