Patna, January 26: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was surprisingly absent at the Republic Day reception hosted by Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Sunday.
Despite attending the Republic Day parade at Gandhi Maidan earlier in the day, where the Governor was present to inspect the proceedings, Kumar did not make his way to Raj Bhavan, which is just across the road from his residence, later in the afternoon.
This sparked speculation in political circles about the CM’s decision to skip the reception, as well as his usual visit to a 'Mahadalit tola,' a tradition he has followed throughout his long tenure as Chief Minister.
