Bhubaneswar, June 4: The fierce battle for control over Odisha between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is nearing its conclusion, with indications suggesting the BJP's likely ascension to power.
Despite Chief Minister Patnaik's concerted efforts, including numerous rallies and extensive campaigning, the saffron party has emerged as the frontrunner as the vote counting progresses.
Presently, the BJP maintains a lead with 72 seats, while the BJD trails closely behind with 57 leads. The Congress follows with 15 leads, with the CPI-M securing one seat lead, and the INDI Alliance securing two seats.
As the momentum swings in favor of the BJP, the once strong bastion held by CM Patnaik appears to be shifting, marking a significant shift in the political landscape of Odisha. With the final results on the horizon, the stage is set for the BJP to potentially form the next government in the state.
