Bhubaneswar: Indian cinema is now witnessing the franchise dominance. From Gadar 2, Stree 2, BB3 to Pushpa 2, the sequels are ruling the roost in the box office.
Amidst the sequel fever and fervor, superstar Akhsay Kumar Thursday confirmed the Keshari franchise with plans to make Kesari 3.
Akki revealed this to the media at the trailer launch event of Kesari 2. The Kesari 2 has not hit the silver screens yet, but the actor has confirmed Kesari 3.
He revealed that the next film in the franchise will focus on legendary Sikh commander Hari Singh Nalwa.
KESHARI FRANCHISE IN BWOOD
At the trailer launch of Kesari Chapter 2 in Delhi, Akshay shared the big news.
He said, “We have to prepare for Kesari 3 now. Aaj subah hi baat kar rahe the iss baare mein. We are thinking of making it on Hari Singh Nalwa, what do you guys say? Punjab ka roop dikhaayenge sabko.”
Fans erupted with excitement after hearing his words. They are now eager to see another powerful historical drama hitting the screens.
Hari Singh Nalwa?
Hari Singh Nalwa was a fierce commander in Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s army. He played a major role in expanding the Sikh Empire and stopping Afghan invasions through the Khyber Pass. He also served as the Governor of Kashmir, Hazara, and Peshawar, securing key victories against powerful enemies.
His battles in Kasur, Sialkot, Attock, Multan, and Jamrud made him one of the most respected warriors in Sikh history. If Kesari 3 follows his journey, fans can expect an action-packed and emotional rollercoaster.
AKKI AND THE ‘F**K’ CONTROVERSY
The trailer features a courtroom scene where his character fires back at a British official’s insult with an unapologetic ‘F**k You.’
Speaking on the controversial dialogue from Kesari Chapter 2, Akshay defended the bold dialogue and questioned why the phrase about slavery did not receive the same attention. He expressed his frustration, stating that being called a slave was a far bigger insult. He also added that in such a situation, even extreme actions would have felt insignificant. His emotional response reflected the deep impact of the film’s story.
Kesari Chapter 2 stars Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan and Ananya Panday in lead roles. The movie delves into the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and the courtroom battle led by C Sankaran Nair. It has been directed by Karan Singh Tyagi under the banner of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
