Bhubaneswar, January 25: Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi interacted with the Padma Shri Awardees of Odisha in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
During a discussion continued for a pretty long time, Majhi was greatly inspired by the prominent personalities including ace folk singer and Padma Shree Dr. Jitendriya Haripal, renowned weaver Chaturbhuja Meher, Para Olympiad Pramod Bhagat and famous sculptor Sudarshan Sahu. Meanwhile, the CM bowed down before the uncommon accomplishment of the proud Odias, in contributing a lot to Odisha’s rich cultural heritage.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude to the great men, the CM wrote on X, “It was a privilege to meet and interact with Padma Shri awardees Dr. Jitendra Haripal, Shri Chaturbhuja Meher, Shri Pramod Bhagat, Shri Sudarshan Sahoo, and other esteemed dignitaries.”
“As a mark of respect for their remarkable contributions, the state government has introduced an honorarium pension of ₹30,000 for all Padma Shri holders. I was deeply humbled by their appreciation for this initiative, which recognizes their dedication and achievements”, the CM wrote.
“During our discussions, we explored ways to preserve and promote Odisha’s rich cultural heritage. I greatly value the insightful suggestions shared by these luminaries and reaffirm my commitment to advancing our glorious traditions and culture”, the post added.
The CM also said, “Honoring our cultural icons and strengthening this connection remains a priority for our government. Together, let us continue to celebrate and uphold the pride of Odisha.”
