Cuttack, Dec 21: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) is set to host the vibrant ‘Patha Utsav’ on Sunday, a lively street festival that will serve as a prelude to the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar from January 8-10.
The event will transform the stretch between Barabati Fort Gate and the Museum of Justice into a bustling hub of cultural and recreational activities from 7:30 AM to 12:00 pm.
"Patha Utsav offers a platform for the people of Cuttack to unite to celebrate creativity, culture, and environmental awareness. The event is designed to engage participants of all ages," said Swetapadma Satpathy, Deputy Commissioner of CMC.
Visitors can enjoy live band performances, street plays, drawing competitions, and Rangoli art displayed on two specially erected stages. Environmental initiatives will include a sapling distribution stall, while artistic demonstrations such as sand art and public wall painting will further enhance the festival's appeal.
CMC officials assured that all necessary arrangements for crowd management and traffic diversion are in place to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. Local residents have welcomed the initiative. “Such innovative events are much needed during the winter. They bring the community together and offer a chance to celebrate for a meaningful cause,” said Asish Paul, a resident of Biju Patnaik Chowk.
