Bhubaneswar, Oct 26: Cyclone Dana has caused significant destruction across several districts of Odisha, uprooting trees, electric poles, and damaging infrastructure and crops. In response, the state’s agriculture and revenue departments will conduct a joint damage assessment.
Senior government officials have confirmed that a dedicated team has been formed to evaluate the extent of the damage in the affected areas.
Arabinda Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Agriculture Department, stated that the assessment will take place under the supervision of local district Collectors.
On the other hand, Odisha Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari announced that the damage assessment process is set to begin today and is expected to be completed within seven days.
In a positive development, major road blockages caused by fallen trees have been cleared, providing some relief to residents. Minister Pujari also assured that people who lost their homes during the cyclone would be provided with permanent pucca house.
