Puri, July 6: A decision regarding the opening of the Ratna Bhandar (treasury) of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri is expected to be made on July 9. Justice Biswanath Rath, who leads the committee overseeing the reopening for repair and inventory purposes, made this announcement.
After the initial meeting of the reconstituted committee, the former Orissa High Court Judge informed reporters that the decision about the Ratna Bhandar will be finalized at the committee's next meeting on July 9.
He noted that a duplicate key of the Ratna Bhandar is stored in the government treasury and has instructed the Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) to present this key at the upcoming meeting.
Justice Rath also mentioned that if the lock does not open with the key, it will be broken to facilitate access.
