Bhubaneswar, Nov 23: Disburse pension to the retired government employees in time, asked the Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja to the district administration on Friday.
In a bid to reinforce accountability in honouring the contributions of retiring government employees, the G&A department issued a directive to ensure that eligible government employees should receive their full pension preferably on the day of their retirement.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja also wrote a letter to all Additional Chief Secretaries/Principal Secretaries /Commissioner-cum-Secretaries and District Collectors to look into the matter.
It the same time, departments and pension-sanctioning drawing and disbursal authorities were also directed to streamline processes to facilitate timely pension payments.
In case of pending disciplinary actions or vigilance inquiries against employees, the concerned departments were asked to resolve matters promptly to expedite their pension disbursement as soon as possible.
