Bhubaneswar, May 2: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has today ordered the transfer of Sujata R. Karthikeyan from the Mission Shakti department to a “non-public dealing department” with immediate effect.
This action was taken following a complaint lodged by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleging misuse of public office.
Sujata Karthikeyan is the secretary of Odisha’s Mission Shakti department and the wife of VK Pandian, who is associated with the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
The BJP demanded that Sujata be relieved of any responsibility until the assembly and Lok Sabha elections are over, accusing her of misusing authority for electoral gains of the BJD.
