Kendrapara, Nov 21: In a tragic incident, a forest official of the Gahiramatha Wildlife on Thursday collapsed in a trawler, patrolling in the sea.
The deceased has been identified as Chanchal Maiti, a trawler driver engaged in patrolling in the restricted buffer-zone of the Gahiramatha face.
While the exact reason behind Maiti’s death is still unclear, cardiac arrest is suspected.
According to report, the patrolling in the sea was going on in a bid to protect rare Olive Ridley turtles in the no fishing zone. Meanwhile, Maiti collapsed all of a sudden after drinking some water. He was immediately taken to the Rajnagar Community Health Centre, where he was declared dead.
