Berhampur, Dec 29: Authorities at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur have taken strict disciplinary action against four doctors involved in the assault on junior doctors in the hostel.
Following a directive from the Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET), the Dean and Principal of the college dismissed the four doctors from service on 'disciplinary grounds' with immediate effect.
The doctors terminated are Dr. Purusottam Swain, Assistant Professor in Orthopedics; Dr. Aryan Kumar Mohanty, Senior Resident in Orthopedics; Dr. Chinmay Pradhan, Senior Resident in Orthopedics; and Dr. Yashwant Veera from the General Surgery department.
Additionally, Dr. Priyajeet Sahoo, a 2nd-year postgraduate resident in Orthopedics, has been debarred from the hostel for six months, according to a notification issued by the college authorities.
