New Delhi, October 9: In a recent statement, businessman Robert Vadra expressed surprise over the BJP's victory in the Haryana assembly elections, reflecting the sentiments of farmers and women wrestlers with whom he has been in contact. Vadra, while supporting the Congress' concerns regarding electronic voting machines (EVMs) in some constituencies, accused the BJP of using his name for political gain.
Vadra highlighted that despite past accusations, the Khattar-led BJP government in Haryana has twice cleared him of any wrongdoing. He called for the newly elected leaders to focus on addressing the grievances of the people.
Though not actively involved in politics, Vadra shared that he has been dragged into the political sphere by various parties over the last decade and a half, leading him to take an interest in political matters. He also aligned himself with Rahul Gandhi's remarks regarding EVM malfunctions, which allegedly disadvantaged the Congress, yet emphasized that whichever party wins must honor its commitments to the public.
