Bhubaneswar, January 8: After a longish silence, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday began a violent crackdown again in Odisha involving illegal mining and unscrupulous financial transactions.
Sleuths of the ED conducted simultaneous raids on the properties linked to one Ratnakar Rout, a mining tycoon in Odisha on Wednesday.
Acting on inputs regarding illegal trade, the sleuths of the ED New Delhi Office conducted simultaneous raids in at least 12 places in Dhenkanal and Bhubaneswar. .
The raids are currently underway at the farmhouse and residence of Rout in Dhenkanal, Hindol and three other places.
