New Delhi, Nov 8: India is set to witness a record-breaking wedding season, with an estimated 48 lakh weddings scheduled over the next two months.
According to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), this surge in wedding events is projected to generate a staggering Rs 6 lakh crore in business, providing a significant boost to the country’s economy.
The wedding industry encompasses various sectors, including apparel, jewelry, hospitality, catering, and event management, all of which are expected to benefit immensely. As families come together to celebrate, businesses nationwide, particularly in cities and towns, are preparing for the anticipated spike in seasonal demand. The wedding market, already one of the largest in the world, continues to grow as consumers increasingly invest in premium products and services to create unforgettable experiences.
CAIT also notes the rising influence of online platforms in this wedding boom, with many families turning to e-commerce for their wedding essentials. As weddings evolve to become more extravagant and diverse, the demand for a wide range of products, from traditional attire to luxury services, is expected to surge, contributing significantly to economic growth.
