Bhubaneswar, Feb, 13: Odisha cadre IPS officer Dr. Satyajit Naik has been conferred the Odiya Icon Sports Tourism Award in New Delhi for his outstanding contribution to field sports.
Union Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, shipping and Waterways Shripad Nayak handed over the coveted award with certificate to Dr. Naik following an occasion at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi.
Local Bharat, a national level organization has recognized Dr. Satyajit Naik for his outstaning contribution and participation in the field sports.
Dr. Satyajit Naik has marked his contribution to the field of sports for years. He recently debuted his international marathon in Dubai wherein he completed a 42km walk successfully and brought glory for Odisha.
Earlier, Dr. Naik had participated in the Tata Mumbai Marathon (42 Km) and qualified twice in 2019 and 2020.
Similarly, he had clinched thumping success in the 200km Golden Triangle cycling race.
Apart from it, he was ranked second in the Hyderabad Trithlon, 2022 wherein a score of IPS officers had participated in the All India event.
Dr. Satyajit Naik is now serving as DIG of police at the state human rights protection cell, Cuttack, Odisha
