A moderate earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale shook parts of Jharkhand on Saturday morning, sending tremors through several districts. The quake, which struck around 9:20 am, had its epicenter in Khunti district, approximately 35 km from the state capital, Ranchi.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake originated at a depth of 5 kilometers. While the tremors were felt in various parts of the state, including Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Kandra in Seraikela-Kharswan district, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage to property.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and assessing the impact of the earthquake. Residents in the affected areas are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions in case of aftershocks.
