Bhubaneswar, February 21: In view of resuming a good-teaching-learning environment in KIIT Bhubaneswar, after a longish unrest on the campus, triggered by death of a Nepali girl student, the Odisha government has decided to reschedule the mid-semester exam.
Minister for Higher Education Suryabanshi Suraj informed it to the Odisha Assembly on Friday.
Terming the demise of a Nepali girl on the KIIT campus as too unfortunate, Suraj said that the mid-semester that’s almost at an arms length, will be essentially postponed. It will be preferably rescheduled after the students’ concerns are meticulously addressed.
Suraj also affirmed the house that there will be provisions of remedial classes to compensate the lessons and practical sessions for the affected students during the intervening days.
Worth mentioning, the academic affairs of the KIIT university in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar, has been stalled since February 16 due to tensions erupted after death of a Nepali student.
