Prayagraj, Jan 17: In Maha Kumbh 2025, among the thousands of saints and pilgrims, Mahakal Giri Maharaj stood out for his extraordinary act of devotion.
For over 11 years, he has kept one of his arms raised as part of his spiritual reparation, aimed at the welfare of the world.
When you look at his hand, it’s now resembling dried wood with overgrown nails longer than his fingers.
"I took sanyas at the age of seven, and now I am 30," Mahakal Giri Maharaj shared.
In a viral video from the Mahakumbh, Mahakal Giri Maharaj calmly answers a YouTuber's question about his journey. When asked when he joined the sect, he replies, "Since childhood." However, the mood shifts when the YouTuber presses further, asking about the bhajan he sings.
Frustrated by the line of questioning, Mahakal Giri Baba suddenly grabs his tongs, leaps up, and begins striking the YouTuber, shouting, "Kya tamasha hai ye."
The YouTuber quickly flees, as Baba mutters, “He will speak ill of saints…”
The Mahakumbh officially began on January 13, drawing over 1.65 crore pilgrims, all in search of 'moksha' and purification of sins.
With over 40 crore visitirs expected over the next 45 days, including many international visitors, the event is a once-in-12-years phenomenon.
