Mumbai, Nov 23: As the Mahayuti alliance nears a landslide victory in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has stated that, just as the alliance fought the elections together, the decision on the CM candidate will be made collectively after the final results are announced on Saturday.
Shinde expressed his gratitude to party workers and voters, saying, "Let the final results come in. Then, just as we contested the elections together, the three parties will meet and make a decision on who will be the CM." He further added, "I thank the people of Maharashtra. This is a landslide victory. I had said earlier that Mahayuti will achieve a resounding success. I thank all sections of society and the workers of the Mahayuti parties for their support."
At Shinde's residence in Thane, celebrations were in full swing as bouquets arrived and Shiv Sena workers cheered outside. Shinde’s son and Shiv Sena MP, Shrikant Shinde, was also seen celebrating with party members. Reflecting on the victory, Shrikant Shinde said, "As we expected, we've secured excellent numbers. I thank all the voters who stood by Mahayuti and contributed to this landslide win."
