Baripada, Jan 14: The body of BSF sub-inspector Sashank Shekhar Nath who was martyred during duty hour by heart- attack was accorded a guard of honor in Baripada of Mayurbhanj district.
Sashank was martyred on 11 January at Punch of Shrinagar. Nath spoke to his family in Baripada just an hour before he suffered a heart attack.
The body of the martyr reached his ancestral village in Baripada at 6 O’clock this morning. His last rites were completed at the local Darogadihi cemetery in the presence of his family, villagers, and relatives.
Sashank, who was serving as a platoon commander in Punch of Rajouri range, has been part of many military operations. He was also a part of the vigilance department of the government of India.
