Bhubaneswar, Dec 30: Loss of crops other than paddy will also be adequately compensated, said Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Monday.
Clearing the air over the confusion of farmers regarding compensation for the crop loss due to the unseasonal rain, Pujari said that adequate compensation will be paid to all farmers including those who grow crops other than paddy.
Underlining the immense loss of vegetables, cotton, and groundnut crops along with paddy crops across the state, Pujari said that all affected farmers will be well assisted by the government.
The district administrations have been asked to compile loss assessment reports at the earliest whereas the insurers have been intimated regarding the massive loss of crops across the state for the unseasonal showers continued for days together, Pujari added.
