Bhubaneswar, Jan 4: The state’s Tourism Department is working diligently to develop these sites into world-class attractions, with plans already in motion to enhance their appeal to both domestic and international tourists.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja has set a mid-month deadline to finalize the development plans, starting with a national workshop aimed at promoting Hirakud as a premier tourist destination. This initiative is expected to lay the groundwork for the phased development of other key locations, positioning Odisha as a must-visit destination for nature lovers, cultural enthusiasts, and history buffs alike.
In parallel, the Odisha government is also prioritizing economic growth by focusing on the development of food parks across the state. Five new food parks are being established in Ganjam, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nabarangpur, and Kalahandi districts, while a mega food park in Rayagada and a marine food park in Deras are nearing completion. These projects are expected to create significant employment opportunities, support local farmers, and ensure fair pricing under the Odisha Food Processing Policy-2024.
These developments in the tourism and food processing sectors are poised to transform Odisha’s economic and cultural landscape, creating a thriving ecosystem for both business and leisure.
