Jajpur, Feb 27: In yet another shocking instance being reported in the state for the second time within a mere one week, another Class-10 girl student from a government-run residential school and Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Matric examinee gave birth to a baby in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Wednesday.
As per reports, the student had taken two HSC exam papers and was fasting for Shivaratri on Wednesday. She fell ill and was admitted to Bari Community Health Centre, where she gave birth to a baby girl.
As her health condition deteriorated after delivery, she was shifted to Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).
The family members of the minor girl have stated that they will seek legal action after the student recovers.
Police will investigate the matter. She was brought to the DHH after delivering the baby at Bari CHC. She was scheduled to take another exam today. The hospital has informed the police and they will proceed with further action, said a Jajpur DHH official.
Further investigation into the matter was underway.
It is worth mentioning that a similar incident was reported from Chitrakonda area of Odisha’s Malkangiri district on February 25 wherein a Class-10 girl from a government-run residential school gave birth to a baby boy.
