Bhubaneswar, Dec 16: Odisha is making significant strides in its renewable energy sector with the approval of seven new projects totaling Rs 1,386 crore.
The projects, with a combined capacity of 192.41 MW, were granted in-principle approval at the 8th meeting of the Single Window Committee (SWC) under the Odisha Renewable Energy Policy-2022.
The approved initiatives include a 99 MW wind power project, five ground-based solar projects totaling 91.77 MW, and a 1.64 MW rooftop solar project. These projects aim to leverage the state's natural potential for generating renewable energy and contribute to Odisha's sustainable economic growth goals.
Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary of the Energy Department, highlighted the importance of these initiatives in achieving Odisha’s renewable energy targets. The state's investment-friendly policies and proactive approach have positioned it as a promising hub for renewable energy investments.
