Kendrapara, Jan 1: Mystery shrouded over the death of a youth after his body was found floating in a pond in Sadar area of Odisha’s Kendrapara district today.
The deceased has been identified as Kanhu Charan Nath, a resident of Birasoti village under Sadar police limits in the district.
According to his family members, some of Kanhu’s friends invited him to join them for a feast following which he left the house at around 11 pm last night. When Kanhu failed to return home, his family members attempted to contact him through phone, but he did not answer their calls.
Thereafter, his panic stricken family members launched a frantic search to trace him. However, they found his clothes and mobile phone, but could not locate him. Later, his family spotted his body floating in a pond in Birasoti village and alerted the police.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and fished out the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
Though the exact reason behind Kanhu’s death is yet to be ascertained, his wife and other family members have alleged that he has been murdered. They further suggested that a conspiracy was involved in his death. However, the identity of the perpetrators and the motive behind the murder are still unknown.
Further investigating into the matter is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the youth’s death.
