Sundargarh, Jan 20: In a shocking incident of armed robbery today, miscreants allegedly looted gold ornaments worth Rs 1.5 crore and Rs 2 lakh in cash from a house after tying the residents in Hemgiri area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
The incident has been reported from Barapali in Sasundhara under Hemgiri police limits in the district.
As per reports, the robbers barged into the house of one Nikhil Agrawal and tied his family members. Thereafter, they threatened them with guns and sharp weapons and decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs 1.5 crore and Rs 2 lakh in cash.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the spot and launched a probe into the matter.
The incident has sent shockwave in the locality.
